We are absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news with our community: Well. Can’d Water has been named a winner of the 2026 Homegrown at Maxol competition!
After a nationwide search for Ireland’s most innovative food and drink producers, Maxol selected us as one of just three brands to join their prestigious Homegrown program. This is a massive milestone for us, and we couldn’t be prouder to see our mission of sustainable hydration recognized on such a huge stage.
What is Homegrown at Maxol?
Now in its third year, Homegrown at Maxol is a initiative designed to shine a light on world-class Irish SMEs. The program supports indigenous businesses by providing them with a platform to scale, including mentorship from retail experts and, most importantly, distribution across Maxol’s extensive network of stores in the Republic of Ireland.
Brian Donaldson, CEO of The Maxol Group, noted that this year’s winners reflect a clear trend toward "convenient, on-the-go products for active consumers looking to make smarter choices." We are honored to be leading that charge in the beverage category.
From a COVID Dream to Maxol Shelves
Well. Can’d Water was born during the pandemic when three friends—Mark Ralph, Conor Ralph, and 2024 League of Ireland champion John O’Sullivan—saw a glaring problem: the sheer volume of single-use plastic bottles ending up in our oceans and landfills.
We set out to create a 100% Irish-owned alternative that didn’t compromise on quality or convenience. Our water is sourced right here in Ireland and packaged in infinitely recyclable aluminium cans.
Whether you’re heading to the gym, commuting to work, or grabbing a quick drink on a road trip, our goal has always been to provide "refreshment without the plastic footprint." Winning Homegrown at Maxol means we can now bring that mission to more people across the country than ever before.
